How to Pay for Health Insurance -- 

What Are the Choices

Would you like a free-market health-insurance-payment-system  --   a system without the exploitation of anything or anyone -- without the greed  --  without the environmental destruction  --  without ripping off customers  --  without endangering the health and the lives of customers or employees  --  without government bureaucrats --  without overpaid corporate executive putting billions of dollars in their own pockets  --  and without billions of dollars being siphoned off to pay health insurance industry's major corporate stockholders?   

If you answered yes, here's the solution you are looking for.   The existing health insurance crisis can be resolved simply and easily by replacing the for-profit corporations with an updated and revised versions of the traditional non-profit foundation.   These three pages define the problem and describe the solution.   Here you answer in a nut shell:  

On one end, we have money to pay for health insurance.   On the other end we have the people who need health services.  

The coordinators between the money and the health services are presently made up of a group of for-profit, multi-billion-dollar insurance companies whose only interest is self-interest.   They put huge amount of customer money in their pockets, manipulate the system to avoid providing the services that the customer paid for, and then spend billions of dollars more of customer money buying votes and controlling the laws to make themselves even more money at the expense of everything and everybody.  

Now without bringing in Einstein, Sherlock Holmes, or a group of fifth graders to solve this problem for you, what do you do?   I'll give you a hint.   If a tree that has fallen across the road between you and where you want to go, what do you do?   You remove the tree or take a different route.  

Repair or Replace:  The simple answer to the health insurance crisis is to:  

1)   Replace the for-profit middle men with a network of cooperation and mutually-supporting, updated and revised versions of the traditional no-profit foundations, or 

2)   Shift paying insurance premiums to only the for-profit companies that are managed using the New Corporate World Foundation's Win-Win business Structure.   See page three of this essay for a detailed description of what to do and how to do it.

In the present, health insurance debate, the basic question is:  "What system will provide the optimum solution?"   

Here's the context in which we'd be wise look for the answer:   

Every problem facing humanity, including paying for adequate health care for everyone, must be examined, addressed, and resolved within the context of providing the greatest, long-term good for the greatest number of people at the lowest possible costs. 

The costs must be measured in more than just just money.   We also need to minimize the number of lives lost, reduce grief and misery as much as possible,  maximize individual freedom, and consume the least amount of money, time, effort, and resources.  

Whatever resolution/solution is implemented must actually solve or significantly reduce the problem.  It must be sustainable, and it must be environmentally sound.  

The Possible answers:   

When one gets beyond all the rhetoric, the dogma, and the shouting matches and examine the evidence, it becomes obvious that some form of single payer health insurance is the most efficient way of paying for health services.   

What is being done in England and Canada may or may not be the correct solution in the United States.   But the bottom line is that the present health insurance payment system is definitely not the answer.   Why?  because the present system is a financial  disaster.   Ok, so what are the available options:  

1)  A  system such as the ones presently functioning very well  in both  England and Canada.  

2)  The system we presently have.   

3)  The new system, several version of which are presently (August 2009) being hotly being debated and argued about.  

A Fourth Choice:   

Fortunately, there is a fourth alternative, a portion of which can be incorporate into the system being proposed by the Obama Administration, and there's another option,  one that is very simply yet will create profound changes,  changes that can be implemented without the government running the health care payment system.
